12-month-old dies in car
Early Friday afternoon, at approximately 12:23 p.m.,
members of the Mebane Police Department responded to
Armacell at 7412 Oakwood Street Ext. Mebane, in
reference to a reported cardiac arrest. Upon arrival CPR
was being administered on an unresponsive 12-month-old.
Unfortunately, life saving measures were unsuccessful.
Based upon information that was ascertained at the
scene, the father of the young child is employed at
Armacell and had left the child in the vehicle.
Investigators have not determined how long the child was
in the vehicle.
At this time, the identity of the
child and father will not be released.
No charges
have been filed at this time. Investigators will confer
with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
